HENRY PURCELL «Fantasias in Four Parts»
MISCHA KÄSER «Elf Flüche gegen ein Dach» für Streichquartett
PJOTR ILJITSCH TSCHAIKOWSKY Streichquartett Nr. 3 es-Moll, op. 30
Description Henry Purcell composed his «Fantazias» in the summer of 1680, the reason for which is not known today. Nevertheless, the artful and expressive music remains timeless. Mischa Käser's new string quartet work was composed during roof renovations, whereby the composer emphasises that the noise shaped the compositional phases. Tchaikovsky's 3rd Quartet, as funeral music for a deceased colleague, breaks through the melancholy with filigree, whirling moments.
