Biography	Modulaw is the alias of Merlin Züllig (*1996), hailing from the city of Zurich, Switzerland. His artistic practice encompasses a wide range of different approaches to sound, ranging from composition and production to theatre and multimedia works. From an early age, a fascination with the juxtaposition of various influences and references ignited his search for innovation. Blending experimental electronic music and sound art, classical music, contemporary rap, dancehall, and R&B, as well as regional club-music styles, he harmoniously weaves these elements together to show the parallels underneath and forge an unconventional musical language. Modulaw's artistic vision takes shape through a keen ear cutting-edge sound design and a knack for delivering captivating performances in different mediums. Whether it's acousmatic performances, DJ-sets, theatre works, sound installations, or his own records, he consistently pushes the boundaries of his musical expression. After having studied Sound Design and Electroacoustic Composition, his creative outlet now extends to ventures beyond music, exploring new avenues such as video and print, pushing the boundaries of his creative expression. Modulaw's art is characterized by a captivating combination of associations that blur the boundaries between the familiar and the unfamiliar, the abstract and the concrete. In his quest for innovation, he juxtaposes references from disparate worlds, creating a compelling narrative that resonates with audiences around the world.
