RUHEORTE. HÖRORTE

On a sound walk along a section of the city - along the river Limmat - sound artist Andres Bosshard directs the attention of the listeners to our everyday acoustic environment. We discover how bridge vaults, façades or floor coverings play with the echoes of nearby and distant city sounds. On a viaduct, we hear how the almost still-flowing water of the Limmat modulates the city noise and creates an invisible acoustic dome. We learn to follow the motions of the city noises and begin to understand, how we influence the tides of the city sounds. In this way, we are encouraged to reinterpret our everyday soundscape and thus shape our own sound environment by hearing attention. This sound walk is connected to the hearing academy for training sound walkers of the project «Hörorte. Ruheorte» (Listening Places, Quiet Places), which takes place in connection with the Regionale 2025 project show Limmattal.

Suitable for people aged 5 and over who are good on their feet. Also recommended for people with impaired hearing.
The event is in German and held outdoors.
