| Description | The «LongNight of Interferences» brings together a plethora of different voices and positions from the contemporary world of experimental music: Denis Rollet’s compositions often sound as if coaxed out of devices and records from an analogue age to whom he gives new life by modifying them with scissors and solder guns. Nilufar Habibian uses the qanun and live electronicsto create impressive sonic edifices from the smallest building blocks. Jad Atoui moves freely between sound art and club sounds while translating his surroundings into music – be it biological data or the instability of a political system. When such different voices meet, the unpredictable happens: they might amplify or defamiliarize one another, clash, or fuse; or a new voice might enter unexpectedly. Cooperation: Gessnerallee & Institute for Computer Music and Sound Technology – Zürcher Hochschule der Künste |
