| Description | Thomas Peter: «spikes and dissolving thoughts» (2022) two electro-acoustic compositions «spikes and dissolving thoughts #1» «spikes and dissolving thoughts #2» Stone, wood, and metal. Different materials and objects physically meet. They rub, collide, interlock. Tension is built up, forces unfold or dissolve eruptively and explosively. The acoustic results of these encounters form the framework of these two electro-acoustic compositions. The focus is on various force relationships and reactions that arise when objects of the most diverse sizes collide. In «spikes and dissolving thoughts #1» mainly concrete sounds are used. Stones rubbing against each other, splintering wood and metal resonances combine to create various musical textures and loosely joined sound patterns. «spikes and dissolving thoughts #2» is a free translation of «spikes and dissolving thoughts #1». It was created with electronic sounds. The tensions and forces of the former materials and objects are abstracted in digital space. Electronic noise and static sounds dissolve into pulsating sound patterns, abstract spaces open up and new perspectives emerge. |
